ADULT BRACES IN LAFAYETTE – Cosmetic Dentistry at its finest
Dr. Gina Liggio Maestri, DDS offers comprehensive orthodontic treatments, the most common of orthodontics that patients can receive. This treatment completely corrects bite problems from start to finish in one stage. It’s appropriate for adults, young adults and children – those who have lost or almost lost all of their baby teeth.
We happily provide complimentary consults for patients interested in orthodontic treatment. In our consultation, we address your concerns and answer any questions about treatment, time involved, and costs in an unpressured environment.
Our office is equipped with an advanced digital scanner which allows us to take a digital impression of your mouth. Not only is it faster and easier without the need of impression material, but it’s much more accurate and provides quicker results!
Our orthodontic treatment does include retainers and whitening once brackets are removed and treatment is complete. We understand that orthodontics is an investment and an extra expense you’re committing to for you or your child. We gladly offer financial assistance options that include a monthly payment plan for up to one year, interest free. Financing through Care Credit is accepted. We do apply a 5% discount on treatment plans that can be paid in full.
benefits of a straighter smile
Taking steps to correct spacing and alignment issues can benefit your overall well-being in several ways, including:
- Properly spaced teeth are easier to clean, which helps you avoid developing gum disease and tooth decay.
- Correcting bite and alignment issues can help you avoid developing a painful problem with your TMJs.
- With orthodontic treatment, we cannot only improve a patient’s smile cosmetically, but also protect it so that it will last a lifetime
- Feeling confident about the appearance of your smile makes you want to smile more. This has a positive effect both on your mental health and on the attitudes of those around you.
did you know?
Baby teeth are intended to create a clear path for permanent teeth, and if they are severely misaligned, this can affect the eruption of adult teeth. A child will need much more involved treatment to correct the problem later down the road if not addressed at a younger age.
This is why we offer Phase 1 Orthodontics for when children still have mixed dentition (baby teeth and permanent teeth) at 7-10 years of age. Part of the diagnostic process involves a cephalometric x-ray in our office to give us crucial information about direction of bone growth, relation of upper jaw to lower, relationship of upper to lower tooth and inform us of any missing, or extra teeth along with the discovery of wisdom teeth.
This is the best age to treat disturbances in jaw growth or tooth development. This is a short phase of orthodontics to enhance favorable growth of your child’s jaw or create space to guide development and eruption of the permanent teeth. This phase usually lasts from 9-12 months. All children by 7 years of age need a panorex to check for correct development of permanent teeth, angulation of teeth, and missing or additional teeth.
